Solre-le-Château owes its name to the stream passing through it and to the castle which once embellished the centre of the town. 1 km away its menhirs, the “Pierres Martines”, can be found. Its leafy undulating countryside is ideal for walks, cycle rides, all-terrain biking and horse-riding. The XVth century church in Solre-le-Château boasts an astonishing bell-tower which with the Renaissance-style XVIth century town hall forms a unique ensemble of buildings.
