Open fields, secluded valleys, ancient bell-towers, canals and marshlands… The Sensée valley and the Ostrevent make up this magical region in which land and water are intimately bound up with one another and in which love of labour and of celebration are a source of enchantment to newcomers. A land of megaliths where strange legends still survive, a land in which the croaking of frogs and the lapping of water against river banks is all to be found enveloped in the smells of soil and peat burning slowly in garlic smokers.
