The Heart of Flanders, proud of its history and mindful of its traditions, is quite simply a land steeped in character.

If proof be needed, consider the range of Flanders hills, the five ‘monts’ which contradict the received idea of a totally flat landscape and communicate a sense of grandeur which is shared by the windmills, some of which are still working and producing flour, and by those legendary heroes the Giants.

Authentic, of course, but also nice people: such are the people of Flanders who welcome you with open arms into their many estaminets, those traditional cafés where one can envoy a good carbonade and a timeless old Flemish game such as ‘marteau’ or ‘billard Nicolas’.
